Christmas Ornaments- Limited Edition!

 In July had the idea that I might like to make Christmas ornaments. I started in plenty of time, and ordered just one type of blank, in order to keep it simple. The wooden heart shaped ornaments arrived, were set down on my worktable and then pretty much ignored - because of course, I had plenty of time. Famous last words.

Because I had lots of time, I did other things; completed commissioned paintings, tried new techniques, worked on some writing projects and a newsletter I co-edit. By now it was October, and while working on something else, I had the idea to dip a few of the blanks into some beautiful discarded paint. And so it started. Then I swiped, I poured, I did blow-outs. I crackled, hand-painted, and embellished. Whew! And then I still had to varnish all of them. 

They are finally finished, and I’m happy to say I’ve sold about half of them. Since I doubt I will make more of these based on the time it takes, I present to you my limited edition collection of Christmas ornaments.
