Wearable Art
So I took a big leap recently...I set up an Etsy shop to sell the pendants I make. It turns out making the pendants is the easy part, but I think I finally have it all sorted out. I was surprised that the hardest part to figure out was the shipping, which took a week of research and frustration. Who knew? But I’m excited that it’s now done, and out in the world.
The pendants are made of paint skins, which are dried paint that has dripped or been intentionally tipped off one of my paintings. Sometimes what is on the table is just as pretty or interesting as what’s on the canvas. It must be my magpie instincts as I hate to just throw them out.
And it turns out my cat is fascinated by paint skins too, but he isn’t patient enough to wait for them to dry. <sigh>. At least he picked a complimentary colour of blue to go with his orange and white fur, lol. And yes, we did manage to get the blue off the flooring, out of the carpet and off the cat.
I plan to add limited edition prints and some smaller paintings (#smollart) to the shop soon, so stay tuned.
I'm happy to report my first pendant sale came in about a week after my shop went live. Here we gooooo!
