Toys! #1

Most people don’t associate toys with creating art, unless you are one of those mad geniuses who create cool sculptures out of Lego. (And if you are, full props to you!)

If you’ve had a chance to watch any of my creation videos you may know that I often use a hairdryer to move paint over top of the surface of a base layer of paint.

Well I got a new toy and the results are amazing. It’s called the World's Smallest Blower, and it looks like a little tiny leaf blower. It’s about 5 inches long and is powered by USB. It also has a partner vacuum, which the sales lady was keen to suggest I might like. Ummm....nope. Paint and vacuums just don't mix. These are definitely meant to be toys, but I can’t for the life of me think of any reason why a parent wants their kid to be able to blow air at speed at someone or something, let alone try to vacuum up random items. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?

So I gave the blower a try and the picture below is the first result. The wispy-ness is incredible and I am really, really pleased with it. I hooked it up to a little USB battery pack which I can pop into my pocket. Now I just have to figure out how to keep the cord out of the wet paint!

I have another new "toy" that isn't really a toy.

Any guesses what this is? Wanna know what the heck I’m going to do with it?
Just you wait. (Did you hear that in Lin-Manuel Miranda's voice?  I did!)
